Sample market build · hiring

Every licensed vet within 35 miles of one Austin clinic

What the first pages of a market build look like, for one example location in central Austin, Texas. A client build repeats this for each of your locations and loads the result into your hiring system.

1 · Who you could hire

1,074 actively licensed vets you could recruit, within 35 miles

CLINIC 10 MI 638 20 MI +458 35 MI +296 active licensed DVMs added by each ring

20 miles 1,096 878 218
35 miles 1,392 1,074 318

Recruitable means an active Texas DVM license, not retired, and not a practice owner. Practice owners are taken out of recruiting and handed to business development, so an owner never gets a job pitch. The employer is identified for 97% of the vets inside 10 miles.

2 · Why a bought list misses them

Practice websites in the same area name 776 vets

1,392
active DVM licenses

State license records place 1,392 actively licensed DVMs within 35 miles of the clinic. The 287 practices in that radius name 776 DVMs on their own websites. Vets at practices that don't list their team, relief vets and vets between jobs don't appear on any list built from websites or business profiles. A build starts from the license records, so they are included.

3 · The practices around you

287 practices within 35 miles; 131 are owned by groups

Ownership is traced through the holding company, not the name on the door. 127 of the 131 group-owned practices trace to 21 named parent companies; the table lists the largest 7 and sums the rest. "DVMs named" counts vets listed on the practices' own websites, which is why it can sit far below the license count.

4 · What a row looks like

Ten records from inside 20 miles, identities removed

VetDistanceLicenseRoleOwnerEmployer
Profile 1 0.0 mi Inactive DVM No Identified
Profile 2 0.9 mi Active DVM No Identified
Profile 3 2.7 mi Active DVM No Identified
Profile 4 4.1 mi Active DVM No Identified
Profile 5 6.2 mi Active DVM No To confirm
Profile 6 8.1 mi Active DVM No Identified
Profile 7 10.4 mi Active DVM No Identified
Profile 8 13.5 mi Active DVM No Identified
Profile 9 15.5 mi Active DVM No Identified
Profile 10 17.5 mi Active DVM No Identified

Rows are evenly spaced across the 1,223 records inside 20 miles, so the inactive license in the first row stays in: the build shows it, and it is excluded from the recruitable count. A client file adds the name, employer, specialty and contact details on each row, plus the distance to every one of your locations.

Method

Where the numbers come from

People: Texas veterinary license records, consolidated and geocoded; distances are straight-line miles from the example point to each licensee's address of record. Practices, ownership and team counts: the VetPulse practice dataset, triangulated from multiple sources. The example clinic is a point in central Austin, not a real client location. The figures are a snapshot from one example build, not live counts; a client build starts from current records. Every record in a client build carries its source.
