Overview

Birmingham’s best full-service independent veterinary practice. For four decades, we’ve been leading the way in veterinary medicine for the Birmingham area, setting the standard when it comes to top-notch care for pets of all kinds. With a 50+ member team – including 7 seasoned veterinarians – we offer a depth and breadth of clinical experience that’s unmatched in this community

In 1956, Dr. Jack Baker built a luxury animal boarding establishment in the country known as the Motel for Pets. His upscale facility would eventually house one of the Birmingham area’s leading full-service veterinary practices. The transformation began in 1984 when Dr. Arthur Serwitz purchased the property, renovating it to accommodate the Riverview Animal Clinic while maintaining the original boarding facilities. Since then, the clinic has undergone several rounds of renovation and expansion to keep pace with the community’s growing demand for its services. Today, Riverview Animal Clinic is a thoroughly modern facility with state-of-the-art surgical suites, well-appointed exam rooms, cutting-edge diagnostic technologies, and expanded boarding space
