Bell Veterinary Hospital has been a cornerstone of veterinary care in Haleyville and its surrounding areas since 2012. Long before it was standing, a dream was nurtured on the pastures of a dairy farm in Valley City, Ohio. Our founder, Dr. Nancy Bell, brings not just her expertise to the community but a lifelong passion that began at her childhood farm. Dr. Bell's journey into veterinary medicine started with a vivid, stormy night that would mark the beginning of her calling. As a young girl, she witnessed a tense, challenging calving during a late-night storm. The local veterinarian was called to assist, and what unfolded was nothing short of miraculous—a rare birth of a calf with two heads and two tails. The event was unusual, mystifying, and transformative. Standing beside her father in the barn, young Nancy watched in awe as the veterinarian worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of both the mother and the calf. Inspired by the dedication and skill of the veterinarian, she turned to her father and, with the determination only a child can muster, declared, 'I want to do that!' This defining moment fueled Dr. Bell's journey through years of education and early career experiences at a local riding stable. With a deepening passion for animal care, she worked diligently towards her dream, which culminated in the creation of Bell Veterinary Hospital
