Dr. Hughes originally opened Hughes Animal Hospital in Malvern in the fall of 1989. After practicing for 24 years he sold his clinic and worked as a relief veterinarian in surrounding counties for a few years. When the opportunity presented itself to return "home", Dr. Hughes happily returned to practice in Malvern, opening a new clinic doing business as Hughes Animal Hospital again. Dr. Hughes worked out a temporary location while his new clinic was being constructed and moved into the new building in the fall of 2017
