Overview
Sports Medicine For the Athletic Horse
Dr. Meyer spent much of his early veterinary career in Southern California working on the racetrack circuit, where he gained extensive experience in high-performance equine medicine — including the opportunity to work with American Pharoah during his historic Triple Crown season. In 2014, after the Breeders’ Cup, Dr. Meyer returned home to Arizona with a renewed goal: to build a practice dedicated to advancing equine sports medicine while serving the local horse community. Desert Mountain Equine began humbly, operating out of Dr. Meyer’s garage before expanding to a 10-acre property and purpose-built clinic in 2018. Today, the practice has grown into a full-service equine hospital supported by a talented team of veterinarians and staff who share the same commitment to excellence
