Dr. Gilchrist lived the majority of his childhood in South Scottsdale, having attended both Mohave Grade School and Saguaro High School. Following High School Dr. Gilchrist joined the Military and served four years in the United States Marine Corps. With an honorable discharge and full time served Dr. Gilchrist started his college career. He first attended Scottsdale Community College for two years. It was at SCC that he realized his calling was to become a veterinarian. He then moved to Florida for a year and took courses at Indian River Community College. While in Florida he worked for a veterinarian as a technician and maintained the boarding facility. After the year in Florida he moved to Colorado to attend Colorado State University and to continue his pursuit to become a veterinarian. He worked for a dairy taking care of the calves and assisted at an equine boarding facility. He then came home to Arizona to attend Arizona State University. After finishing up at ASU he left for veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He spent a little over three years at Ross. He then attended Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the University Of Illinois College Of Veterinary Medicine. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2003. Dr. Gilchrist started his veterinary career in a small town called Fishkill, New York where he worked at Companion Animal Hospital. It was a small animal two doctor practice. He worked there for a year and a half. After that he came back home to Arizona and has been here ever since. He worked at Ingleside Animal Hospital for more than seven years prior to starting the house-call practice Vet To You LLC
