From the moment Dr. Lisa Gulinson was 4 years old, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. Growing up in California surrounded by a menagerie of rescued animals, she was deeply inspired by the bond between people and pets. This early passion led her to work with respected veterinarians, including Stephen Ettinger, Etienne Cote, and John Bonagura, who shaped the field of internal medicine and cardiology. Dr. Gulinson earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from UCLA, where she was a proud Phi Beta Kappa member. Her academic journey took her to the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated in 2008. Along the way, she contributed to groundbreaking research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, helping build the Osteosarcoma laboratory. This research experience honed her skills as a clinician and deepened her commitment to finding innovative treatments for her patients. With interests in internal medicine, dermatology, and senior pet care, Dr. Gulinson is passionate about improving the lives of pets and helping them live longer, healthier lives. She practiced in Los Angeles and volunteered with K9 Connections, where she helped at-risk teens bond with shelter dogs to train them for permanent homes. In 2011, Dr. Gulinson moved to Arizona to embrace a slower-paced life and raise her family
