Dr. Singh first started dreaming of owning his own veterinary practice when he was working at a large animal hospital. His desire was to open his own veterinary practice so that he could practice medicine on his own terms, and elevate the level of service and care he could provide to his patients. He discovered his passion for teaching while he was an assistant professor of Immunology at the College of Veterinary Science of Punjab Agricultural University in India. To this day education is one of the keystones of American Canyon Veterinary Hospital. Whether it is teaching future veterinarian students, passing on knowledge to current veterinary technicians or assistants, or even student volunteers, he makes sure that the environment is collaborative and that learning is a priority. During his time working in small animal hospitals, he met Julie and Jessi and knew that he wanted them alongside him as he opened up his own hospital. In 2009 he finally made the decision to leave corporate medicine and open his own practice, with Julie and Jessi as his first employees. While Jessi has moved on to become a rep for Patterson University, Julie is our practice manager to this day. When it came time to look for a location for his new adventure, he saw a need in American Canyon. The closest veterinarians were either in Vallejo or Napa and he knew he could serve the community by creating a hospital right between the 2 cities. He and his wife Katya fell in love with the Napa Valley and chose to live here, so what better place to open his own hospital than American Canyon? In 2010 his dream became a reality and American Canyon Veterinary Hospital was born. Although many things have changed since 2015 the foundation principles have stayed the same. We specialize in breeding, brachycephalic breeds, as well as general surgery
