Overview
At VCA Bakersfield Animal Hospital, we help pets live long, healthy and happy lives. We deliver the best medical care for pets and the best experience for pet owners
Founded in 1923, VCA Bakersfield Animal Hospital has a long history and reputation for providing compassionate, comprehensive, and skilled veterinary care for both small and large animals in the Kern County area. We are dedicated to providing all animals with the highest quality and most modern veterinary medicine, combined with old-fashioned personalized care and service. Over the years, our hospital has been home to many veterinarians who have been recognized throughout the San Joaquin Valley for their skill and dedication to the well-being of animals. As a part of our unwavering commitment to animal welfare, we are continuously expanding our scope of veterinary knowledge. Our veterinarians work hard to continue their educational efforts in a variety of different fields in order to adapt to the ever-changing needs of our patients with ease. In addition, the veterinarians and staff at VCA Bakersfield Animal Hospital believe that our medical expertise and love for animals is of little use if we do not share that with you. We work closely with you to understand your pet's unique health needs, develop a customized wellness plan, and ensure you have the knowledge required to be a responsible, loving caregiver. When you come for a visit with your pet, we listen to your concerns and provide you with the latest information about your type and breed of pet. It is our goal not just to ensure the health and well-being of your pet, but to be your partner in strengthening the bond you share. A large part of our success is our huge family of loyal clients. Thanks to our ever-growing client family, we expanded our business and our services in 2008, when we combined our small animal locations on Chester Avenue and Wible Road in an over 13,000 square foot hospital on Harris Road. Since then, we have proudly offered our patients and clients spacious lobby areas (with freshly brewed coffee 24 hours a day and a special children's waiting area with toys), large dog runs/play areas, state-of-the-art surgical and exam rooms, luxury boarding suites, a comprehensive laboratory, a complete veterinary pharmacy, and other medical assets all in a calm, welcoming atmosphere for you and your pets. We also provide the Kern County community with 24-hour small animal emergency care, with doctors on-site during all hours
