Dr. Timm was raised on a sheep ranch outside of Dixon. He went to school in Dixon, studied zoology at UCD, admitted to veterinary school in 1964, graduated in 1968. He worked in a clinic at the University of Santiago, then mixed practice in Watsonville, small animal practice in Lodi. He moved to Dixon and established the Dixon Vet Clinic with Dr. Karen Timm in 1971. He returned in 1981 to gain a masters degree in preventative veterinary medicine and worked in Brazil, Guatemala, Egypt, Poland and Romania for USAID. He is now the sole practitioner
