Overview
Cerro Alto Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital is San Luis Obispo’s 24/7 Specialty & ER Clinic. We provide top-tier specialty services and 24/7 emergency care. Our care is progressive, personal, and passionate
For far too long, pet parents in San Luis Obispo County have had to travel upwards of 1½ to 2 hours to access 24/7 emergency care or comprehensive veterinary specialty services because this advanced level of care simply wasn’t available locally. Not anymore. Board-certified veterinary surgeon Joseph Raleigh, DVM, DACVS-SA and emergency veterinarian Ethan McEnroe, DVM seized the opportunity to fill this critical gap, opening Cerro Alto Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital in the Fall of 2025. This brand-new facility is the first-ever local veterinary hospital to offer an array of advanced specialty services under one roof as well as around-the-clock emergency and critical care
Mission — Progressive means we’re on the forefront of veterinary care because we’re invested in continuous learning, participating in groundbreaking research, training the next generation of veterinarians/technicians, and providing education to the local community. Personal means we truly care about each patient and family, delivering gold-standard clinical care with empathy, candor, and respect. Passionate means we’re driven by a deep commitment to healing and teaching—dedicated to advancing pet health, supporting pet owners, and empowering the next generation of veterinary professionals through shared knowledge and care
