As one of the first animal welfare agencies in the West, Santa Barbara Humane has served our local communities since 1887. Founded in 1887, Santa Barbara Humane is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and one of the first animal welfare agencies in the country. The Santa Barbara Humane Society and Santa Maria Valley Humane Society merged on February 1, 2020, combining resources and expanding services to the community
