The roots of Humphrey, Giacopuzzi & Associates Equine Hospital stretch back to a dairy farm in Canoga Park, California, where cousins Dr. Michael W. Giacopuzzi and Dr. Richard L. Giacopuzzi first developed their passion for animal care. Both earned their veterinary degrees from UC Davis and joined Dr. Weden P. Humphrey’s large animal ambulatory practice, Dr. Richard in 1979, and Dr. Mike in 1980. In 1983, the Giacopuzzis purchased Dr. Humphrey’s practice, and by 1988, they established Humphrey Giacopuzzi Equine Hospital as a full-service equine care facility. Over the decades, they have not only built a thriving veterinary practice but also contributed actively to animal welfare and the local community. Today, HGAE remains committed to advancing equine medicine while honoring the tradition of personalized, expert care on which it was founded
