I grew up in South Carolina as an only child, always surrounded by many animals! My dear father instilled in me a deep love and respect for them, and I knew from about the age of five that I wanted to be a vet. After graduating with an undergrad from Clemson University, I then attended veterinary school at the University of Georgia. Two days after graduation I moved to Danville, California where I had accepted a position at a day practice and worked at an emergency clinic in Berkeley on the weekends. In 1994 I decided to start my own practice, establishing 'Dog and Cat House Calls'
