Dr. Lynn Hendrix has spent her life preparing for this work. After losing her mother to cancer in 1993, she began studying hospice care, and carried that question into UC Davis veterinary school, where at her interview she asked whether hospice could exist for animals too. Today, she is one of the founding leaders of the field she once imagined. Dr. Hendrix co-founded the World Veterinary Palliative Medicine Organization and served as its 2019 President, helped author the country's first comprehensive animal hospice guidelines through the IAAHPC, and wrote Animal Hospice and Palliative Medicine for the House Call Vet the book other veterinarians use to learn this work. With 30+ years in veterinary medicine and a decade in emergency practice before founding Beloved Pet Mobile Vet in 2011, she has sat on the floor beside hundreds of families on the hardest day of their year
