In 1976, following completion of vet school, Dr. Fitch bought the property on which the clinic now sits with the goal of starting his own, solo practitioner, equine practice. In that year, Dr. Fitch completed a rigorous internship at Littleton Large Animal Clinic before returning to the Boulder area to begin his own practice. Starting by covering night-time emergency work for a few other practices, Dr. Fitch gradually began to grow his practice, and did so for 24 years on his own. In 2001, after working at Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico, Dr. Downey joined Dr. Fitch, and the practice continued to grow and flourish. In 2010, Dr. Downey bought the practice from Dr. Fitch and Quality Equine Veterinary Services, Inc. was born. As the practice continued to have growing demands, Dr Pryor was brought on in 2016. He's provided a level of personal and professional care to our client base that we are extremely fortunate to have. Again in 2022 we found ourselves in need of extra hands and were blessed to have Dr Moore join us with enthusiasm and thoroughness
