Established in April 2001, Paws of the Rockies Animal Hospital came into being through the vision of Dr. Mark Holmes. Having pursued his veterinary education at Colorado State University in Fort Collins (class of 1997), Dr. Mark Holmes embarked on a journey of professional growth, undertaking a rotating internship at a specialized center in Phoenix, AZ, and worked as an associate veterinarian in Scottsdale, AZ. However, his heart remained anchored to the vibrant community of Fort Collins, where he had cultivated a deep connection during his academic years. Under the mentorship of Dr. Stan Howard at Tatum Point Animal Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ, Dr. Mark Holmes honed his clinical skills and imbibed invaluable lessons in compassionate care essential for becoming a proficient clinical physician. Then, driven by his passion for both veterinary medicine and a desire for a quality life within the Fort Collins community, Dr. Mark Holmes made the decision to establish his own practice, thus giving birth to Paws of the Rockies Animal Hospital
