Dr. Kimberley MacDonald founded Kindest Farewell. The true inspiration came from a personal loss. In 2019, while traveling abroad, she had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to her beloved bulldog, Charlotte. Far from home and without the support of familiar people or surroundings, she found herself in a sterile, unfamiliar environment during one of the most painful moments of her life. That experience stayed with her. It made her acutely aware of how important it is for families to have an option that allows them to say goodbye in a space filled with love, familiarity, and peace. Kindest Farewell grew from that realization
