Core Vet began with a simple idea: Veterinary care should feel personal, grounded, and shaped by the people and pets we serve. We set out to build a practice where pets are treated like family. Our building – a historic Stamford landmark reimagined: Core Vet Animal Hospital proudly calls home one of Stamford’s most historic landmarks — the former Fire Station No. 2 at 670 Pacific Street. Originally built in the early 1900s, the station served the Stamford community for nearly a century. In 1954, its original three arched doorways were replaced with two wide, flat-top bays to accommodate modern fire trucks. The station closed in 2002 due to disrepair. In 2017, it was purchased and structurally restored by Building and Land Technology (BLT), preserving its distinctive brick façade. Drawing on their background in real estate development and design, Dr. Xander Simunek and Andrew Kilbourn completely reimagined the interior and exterior spaces, transforming the vacant shell into a modern, warm, and luxurious veterinary hospital while honoring the building’s century-old charm. The project was completed in September 2025, marking the official rebirth of this iconic firehouse as Core Vet Animal Hospital
