Ten years ago, Halifax Humane Society sheltered over 15,000 homeless pets each year — many of whom faced euthanasia due to overcrowding. Thanks to community support and affordable sterilization programs, the intake of pets has dropped to fewer than 6,000 annually, and approximately 90% of those animals find loving new homes
