Overview

Veterinary Surgery Service Inc. is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas. At surgeryvet.com we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy

Dr. John Wight grew up in Orlando, FL. After a tour in the United States Marine Corps he returned to Orlando and completed his undergraduate work preparing for vet school. In 1991 he moved to Gainesville, FL for graduate studies at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Graduating in May, 1995, Dr. Wight was selected for an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. After OSU, he returned to Orlando and entered private practice. From 1999 to 2016 Dr. Wight served dozens of Central Florida veterinary clinics as a 'visiting surgeon'. By partnering with the veterinary clinics and hospitals they were able to offer more options for surgery, benefiting the clients, the patients, and the clinics. In 2017 Dr. Wight moved to Fort Walton Beach, FL and opened Veterinary Surgery Service Inc, a veterinary referral practice offering advanced diagnostic and surgical procedures

Mission — Our mission is to serve the veterinary and pet community of the Florida Panhandle by offering advanced diagnostic and surgical procedures as well as rehabilitation therapy
