I have been a practicing veterinarian since 1989 in Canada, and broad experience has brought me to this point in my career. I started out as an equine/mixed animal practitioner, specifically based on my extensive equine competitive background. I then spent a number of years in small animal general and emergency medicine (all the while continuing to ride and show). My interest in detail and physiology brought me to specialize in Anesthesiology in 1998, with board-certification and a Masters degree concentrating on respiratory physiology
