Animal Urgent Care of Hernando County

We provide same-day care for your pet when they aren't feeling well or have minor to moderate injuries. We work in conjunction with your pet's primary general practice veterinarian; we do not replace them. Our goal is to either get them well enough to follow up with your veterinarian, or triage/stabilize, and refer your pet to a full service emergency hospital for more extensive treatment

Animal Urgent Care of Hernando County was conceived by three women with decades of combined experience in various veterinary practices. In that time, we identified a crucial gap in pet care services in places like Hernando County: the absence of urgent care facilities. We saw that general practice veterinary offices were becoming overwhelmed by attempting to accommodate urgent care cases alongside their already packed schedules. In turn, we saw the frustration faced by pet owners who had to wait for an appointment. Additionally, we noted the impact of large corporate-owned veterinary companies on the industry and how this could affect the level of care pets received. Understanding the distress pet owners feel when their pets are in pain or discomfort, we were motivated to establish a clinic specifically for those unforeseen issues that arise outside of normal business hours
