McAbee Veterinary Hospital was established in 1962 by Dr. Harry S. McAbee. Following his service in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, Dr. Harry S. McAbee graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1951. Dr. Scott W. McAbee, a 1990 graduate of the same school, took over the practice in 1991
