Overview

Local Veterinarians Serving Winter Park, Maitland, College Park, Baldwin Park & Greater Orlando FL. For over half a century Winter Park Veterinary Hospital has been proudly setting the standard for veterinary care in Central Florida. Winter Park Veterinary Hospital is proud to be family owned. We Welcome your Family, to our Family!

With the passionate belief that pets make our lives better, Dr. Robert Hess and his wife Jean worked tirelessly for 30 years to make Winter Park Veterinary Hospital the place to go for quality animal care in Central Florida. A native Floridian, Dr. Hess grew up with pets at his side – and found joy and purpose in rescuing and caring for injured animals. This passion led to a decades-long partnership with Audubon and other organizations that support our most vulnerable friends in the wild. The hospital has deep roots in the community, having been founded in 1955. The Hesses started the modern Winter Park Veterinary Hospital after purchasing the practice from Dr. J.D. Lynch in 1983. They are committed to keeping the hospital a family-run business

What reviewers say

88% Positive sentiment
based on 1,005 reviews

Winter Park Veterinary Hospital is an independent practice providing comprehensive care for dogs, cats, birds, and exotic species including reptiles, small mammals, and fish. The facility features a clean, modern environment and is open seven days a week, offering primary care, urgent care, emergency services, boarding, and daycare. The veterinary team is widely regarded as highly knowledgeable, compassionate, and exceptionally skilled at handling anxious or high-maintenance pets. Staff members and veterinarians take time to explain diagnoses and treatment options thoroughly, while providing strong follow-up communication after visits. While the practice is generally praised for its expertise and quality of care, pricing can be on the higher side, and scheduling or billing communication can occasionally experience friction.
