Overview

At Mills Animal Hospital, we're passionate about pets and dedicated to offering heartfelt veterinary care that elevates your pet’s health and longevity. Our mission is simple: to treat every pet and pet owner like they're a part of our own family, ensuring our four-legged patients have long, joyful lives. As your veterinarian, you can lean on us for all your companion’s needs, from their preventative care and wellness exams to dental care, surgery, sick pet visits, internal medicine, and rehabilitation. We are also a bilingual practice (English and Spanish) with stress-free visits because you and your pet deserve to feel at home at our animal hospital

Mills Animal Hospital was a dream dreamt by a little 4-year-old Michelle Mills. That dream grew into a goal of providing quality patient care with the utmost love and compassion in a fun, family-oriented environment, with a team of experts that would be like an extended family to Dr. Mills. In July 2017, that dream came true, and Dr. Mills' hopes and goals for the practice have continued to be fulfilled, far exceeding her original vision. Being involved in our community is at the heart of everything we do at Mills Animal Hospital. We are proud to partner with local schools, including Picketts Mill Elementary School, as part of their Partner in Education program and sponsor Paulding, North Cobb and Allatoona High School sports teams. You'll also find our team out in the community throughout the year—we proudly participate in events like the Big Shanty Festival and Taste of Acworth, where we connect with local families, meet new pets, and continue building relationships beyond our hospital walls. Each October, we host our annual Fall Festival to celebrate our extended family and community. This event brings everyone together with food, Halloween costume contests, kid-friendly activities, a petting zoo, a photo booth, and so much more. Supporting and inspiring the next generation of veterinary professionals is especially important to us. Through our kids' educational programs and Teddy Bear Surgery demonstrations, children have the opportunity to 'scrub in' and perform surgery on their stuffed animals, helping their fuzzy patients feel better. Many leave saying they want to become veterinarians, and we're honored to help spark that passion. We also invest in future professionals by offering externship programs for veterinary, veterinary technician and Pre-Vet high school students, providing hands-on experience in a supportive, real-world environment. Beyond education, we are deeply committed to our community. We proudly support local animal shelters and founded Mills Pet Rescue—where every paw finds a forever home. Through our rescue efforts, we provide essential veterinary care to help homeless pets become healthier and more adoptable. We are truly humbled to be recognized for our dedication to veterinary medicine and our community. Dr. Michelle Mills was honored with the UGA Distinguished Alumni Wellness in Practice Award, and our hospital has been named Best of Georgia (Veterinary Practice) for three consecutive years—2023, 2024, and 2025. These recognitions reflect our team's commitment to excellence, compassion, and high-quality care for every patient and family we serve. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Mills Animal Hospital continues to grow. To better serve you and your pets, we've expanded our practice by adding new exam rooms—allowing for increased availability and a smoother, more efficient experience for every visit. Behind the scenes, Dr. Michelle Mills has been working tirelessly—purchasing property, designing plans, and collaborating with the right partners—to bring an exciting new vision to life. This continued growth allows us to elevate the level of care, comfort, and service we provide to our community
