Overview

Comer Veterinary Hospital is your hometown vet clinic, located in the heart of historic Madison County, Georgia. We take care of dogs, cats, small animals, exotics, and hobby farm pets. Our veterinarians look forward to providing you and your pets with affordable, top-notch healthcare

Comer Veterinary Hospital has had quite a storied history in Madison County. The clinic opened in the 1970s under the leadership of Dr. Henry Brubaker, who established it as a mixed animal practice. Dr. Leslie Fordham, who worked for Dr. Brubaker, took over the practice in the 1990s and transitioned it into a predominantly small animal clinic. During this time, Dr. Mandy Adams started working here as a vet student. She came on full time as a veterinarian in the early 2000s. In 2016, Dr. Tyson Strickland was brought on to do relief work for Dr. Fordham. He enjoyed the whole team at Comer Vet, not to mention the way its vets, techs, and assistants fostered community engagement. He wanted to see Comer Vet's traditions and atmosphere flourish, and so in 2018 bought the clinic. Dr. Strickland also owns Custom Livestock Solutions, our sister clinic that offers veterinary care and herd management services for cattle, horses, swine, and small ruminants. With these two clinics, Comer Vet and CLS bring us back to our original mixed-practice roots. The joint team continued to grow, first bringing on Dr. Amy Goggans in 2022 for small animal medicine, wellness, and surgery. Long-time familiar face and dedicated Comer Vet team member Dr. Preston Russell followed in Dr. Adams' footsteps, returning to his hometown clinic as a hometown vet in 2023. He specializes in small animal medicine and soft tissue surgery, as well as exotics. After a brief stint with the clinic in 2023, Dr. Caitlin Quinn joined in 2024 to offer small animal medicine, wellness, and surgery. Our most recent member of the Comer Vet team is Dr. Faith Chamlee, who started in summer 2024
