There has long been a need for 24-hour emergency and specialty care for the pets of Honolulu, Hawaii, and the Pacific Rim. In 2011, Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii (VERC) was created to meet these needs. we were the first veterinary center of its kind in the state of Hawaii. As Honolulu’s first 24-hour veterinary emergency + specialty hospital, our facility provides a valuable resource to area animals, owners, and referring veterinarians and offers the very best in modern veterinary care. In 2018, VERC joined Ethos Veterinary Health, a network of specialty and emergency hospitals with locations throughout the U.S. Ethos Veterinary Health was formed in December 2015. Working primarily by referral from primary care veterinarians, the hospitals in Ethos’ network provide advanced veterinary medicine and high-quality, compassionate care that improves the lives of pets and their owners. In 2021 VERC passed another major milestone when we moved into our new 17,250 sq ft hospital on N. Nimitz Highway. The new building features 14 exam rooms, two soft tissue and two orthopedic surgery suites, two digital radiography suites, an MRI, and a new upgraded 128-slice CT
