Dr. Jeff Kordell has had a lifelong passion for animals. As early as first grade, he told his teacher he wanted to be a veterinarian—and never looked back. By the age of 10, he was working alongside local veterinary mentors, gaining hands-on experience that solidified his dream of one day starting his own practice. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. During his studies, Dr. Kordell was fortunate to be a part of an extensive study on hip dysplasia, helping advance the veterinary understanding of nutrition and genetics in orthopedic health. After graduation, Dr. Kordell practiced companion animal medicine throughout Chicago’s North Shore. In 1997, he founded Kordell Animal Medical Services, PC, a housecall-based practice focused on personalized in-home care. In 2005, he fulfilled a longtime goal by designing and opening Animal Medical Center at Fort Sheridan, where he remains dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care
