Overview

Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic providing targeted, high-impact spay/neuter policies to address pet homelessness and overpopulation

The South Suburban Humane Society (SSHS) was incorporated in 1970 as a small group of volunteers who took in homeless pets and worked to find them permanent homes. From those humble origins, we grew to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We now operate a 19,000-square-foot animal resource campus in Matteson, IL

Mission — The South Suburban Humane Society promotes the well-being of pets and the people who love them in the Metro Chicago region. We care for and shelter animals in need of protection. We provide pet care resources to our communities and promote the human-pet bond through adoption services. Our targeted, high-impact spay/neuter policies address pet homelessness and overpopulation. We strive to create a better world for pets and their people
