Our service begins with our people. Brewer’s doctors and staff are committed to treating each and every pet with compassion and care, while providing our clients with respect, patience and understanding. This human touch is backed by experience and expertise that is second to none. Brewer’s doctors and staff frequently attend continuing education seminars to stay informed on current techniques and practices. We also regularly update equipment, medications and diagnostics to remain at the cutting edge of veterinary medicine
Brewer Animal Hospital was founded in 1977 by Dr. Joseph Brewer, a long-time and esteemed Springfield veterinarian. It didn’t take long for this one-doctor practice to grow. Dr. Evan Kirk joined Brewer Animal Hospital in 1990. Dr. Kellie Guth joined our staff in June 2019. Dr. Thomas Thornburg (Emeritus) joined Brewer in 1980 and retired in the summer of 2014. Dr. Rina Ward (Emeritus) joined Brewer Animal Hospital in 1995 and retired in June 2024. Dr. Joseph Brewer passed away on June 8, 2008. The name of our clinic remains Brewer Animal Hospital to honor the man who started it all
