Chicago Equine Medical Center is a state-of-the-art veterinary and surgery facility near Chicago, Illinois. We are one of the few veterinary hospitals in North America committed to the health and soundness of race and sport horses while serving pleasure horses as well. Chicago Equine is comprised of highly trained veterinarians and staff dedicated to preventing, diagnosing, and treating equine injuries and illnesses

Known as Fox River Valley Equine Clinic, Keith Merritt, DVM established the practice in 1992 with a passion for treating horses. As time passed and the area became more urbanized the horse enthusiast population grew. This growth fueled the practice as it became Merritt & Associates Equine Hospital with a staff and facility dedicated to implementing technological advances in diagnostics and treatments for the betterment of the horse community. In 2016, the practice was purchased by long time veterinarians Dr. Dana Marsh, Dr. Chris Downs and their business partner Dr. Randy Bimes. Today, Chicago Equine Medical Center honors its history of quality veterinary care while keeping to its original philosophy: To improve and maintain each horse's health so that it can comfortably perform at the peak of its ability, while enjoying a longer, more successful career and productive life
