Compassionate, individualized medicine with a family atmosphere. We are a privately owned, two doctor small animal practice located in the heart of Chesterton, Indiana. We pride ourselves in creating relationships with our clients and patients so that we may strengthen the human-animal bond

We opened the doors of Ark of the Dunes Animal Hospital in 2001. Since this time we have taken pride in building personal connections and providing quality medicine to the Chesterton area. Dr. Julie Hyslop joined us in 2010. She purchased the practice from James T. Read, DVM in 2018. With the addition of Dr. Andrea Hargarten in 2019 we have a team dedicated to providing you with the best care. We have a wonderful support staff that understands that your pet is a very important member of your family, which is why we treat your pet as if it were our own
