Overview

Peaceful Passing’s mission is to provide families in Fort Wayne and the surrounding areas with an intimate way to care for their beloved pets in their final moments. Peaceful Passing aspires to give compassionate care that honors the important bond families share with their animal companions

Dr. Stresemann is a Fort Wayne native who knew she wanted to return home to this wonderful city after graduating from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Dr. Stresemann excitedly took on the challenge of emergency medicine where she focused the first 16 years of her career. Prior to being accepted to veterinary school, Dr. Stresemann volunteered at Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control. With this experience she developed a sincere love for helping the homeless and adoptable pets of our community. After graduation she returned to Animal Control as a veterinarian where to this day she still spends some of her free time providing surgical, medical, and veterinary forensics expertise. In 2021 Dr. Stresemann had the opportunity to transition to general practice where she has greatly enjoyed connecting with families and their pets. The experience of working with families and sharing the common goal of maintaining healthy pets has been very rewarding. Starting Peaceful Passing is a calling that Dr. Stresemann has long been wanting to fulfill. It is with great joy that she has finally been able to make this vision a reality. The idea to bring her compassionate care into families’ homes to help their pets have a peaceful passing has been with her throughout all phases of her career. Dr. Stresemann has helped many families euthanize their beloved pets. During each encounter she has always strived for the pet’s passing to be truly peaceful. She strongly feels that the ultimate way to achieve a peaceful passing is in the pet and family’s home or other beloved setting. Peaceful Passing has become a reality in large part due to the support of Dr. Stresemann’s husband, Adam. They met and started dating in high school and got married while Dr. Stresemann was in veterinary school. Adam has supported her throughout her entire veterinary career and he now supports her in his role as business partner of Peaceful Passing
