Overview

At Countryside Animal Clinic, we strive to provide excellent veterinary care for your pet at reasonable prices. We offer general medical and surgical services for your pet. We strive to provide a pet and family-friendly environment so that you and your pet are as comfortable and relaxed as possible during your visit

Dr. Jennifer Lortie graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2004 and has been practicing veterinary medicine in this area ever since. In addition to treating pets, Dr. Lortie also treats large animals (however, not horses). Dr. Lortie grew up on a small farm in Green Township, Noble County. In 5th grade Dr. Lortie decided that she wanted to be a veterinarian. It has been her dream to establish her own clinic since before starting her college education. Countryside Animal Clinic is the realization of this lifelong dream. Along with her husband Mike, Dr. Lortie began planning the construction of Countryside Animal Clinic in July 2010. It was a challenging process, but well worth the effort. Dr. Lortie and her husband welcomed their first child, Addison Mae Lortie, in July 2011. You will likely see Addison when you visit the clinic. In addition, the Lortie family includes 3 dogs (a Bernese Mountain dog named Maverick, a Jack Russel named Reba and an English Shepherd named Hitch). Dr. Lortie and her husband also breed and show registered Holstein cattle. In June of 2024 we added Dr. Erica Hesters to our team. Dr. Erica Hesters graduated from Purdue University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2024. She grew up in Laporte County Indiana where she enjoyed showing beef cattle and pigs in 4-H. She realized early on she had a love for working with people and animals and quickly found that veterinary medicine was the perfect way to incorporate all of her passions. Her mother’s family is from Noble County so she has grown up visiting the area and after spending a few weeks here as an extern with Dr. Lortie, she knew this was the perfect place for her. When not working she loves spending time with family, hiking, kayaking, and getting to know the area. So far she has one kitten named Rascal, but she knows it won’t be long before he has a fur sibling or two
