Monon Veterinary Clinic (MVC) was founded in 1974 by Dr. Carl Hites Jr., DVM, with a focus on providing high-quality equine veterinary care. Over the years, the clinic expanded its services to include small animal care, broadening its reach to serve the diverse needs of the White County community. Dr. Hites was not only a dedicated veterinarian but also worked for many years at Culver Academy, strengthening his ties to the local area. After decades of service, he moved on to become one of the leading veterinarians on Mackinac Island, continuing his passion for veterinary care. MVC has seen growth and change, moving to its fourth location in and around Monon to better serve its clients. The clinic has remained a trusted source of compassionate, skilled veterinary services for both large and small animals in the area, adapting to meet the evolving needs of the community while maintaining the high standards set by its founder
