Swartz Veterinary Hospital

We are Swartz Vet Hospital, located in Colby, KS along interstate I-70. We are a 3 doctor practice and see all critters big and small! Including dogs, cats, exotics, large animal and more!

Dr. Tammy Swartz practiced medicine for 6 years before she decided to start her own veterinary clinic in Colby, KS. She and her husband, Cory, bought an old U-Haul rental store July 15th, 2005. They spent 60 days remodeling before opening their doors for the first time on September 15, 2005. Dr. Swartz remembers her very first client walked through the doors at 8am opening day, for an anal gland expression of all things! She remembers fondly and states, "And we haven't slowed down since!". Her husband, Cory, is an accountant, so she already had someone to manage the books. Her two daughters, April and Brittany, practically lived at the clinic growing up and worked part-time throughout high school. Before they opened their clinic, Dr. Swartz had 2 part-time employees hired and ready to go, but by the end of the first week, she had already hired 2 more! They added onto the building in 2008, doubling their square footage. Building the business bit by bit over the years, they now run a 3 doctor practice with 10 full-time employees and about 6 part-time employees
