Towne Square Animal Hospital opened its doors in Owensboro, Kentucky in 1983. At the time, the animal hospital was located in a single building and owned by the late Dr. John Hyland. The practice was very successful and steadily grew to a busy three doctor practice when Dr. Hyland’s son, Dr. Chris Hyland, joined the practice in 1990. By 2003 the building was becoming cramped as the clientele continued to grow and two more doctors were added to the practice. In 2004, Dr. Robert Byrd retired from Audubon Animal Hospital on Parrish Ave. After this, in combination with Towne Square Animal Hospital, became Towne Square Animal Hospital LLC, giving everyone more elbow room and the ability to serve the communities from two convenient locations. As the population in Owensboro and Daviess County continued to grow, it caused a greater need for pet boarding and grooming. In 2005, Towne Square Pet Resort was built, completing the current day three-business LLC. From its small beginning in 1983, our family has grown to include a combined seven doctors
