Dr. Pat McSweeney and his wife, Beverly, opened the practice in April, 1992. Dr. Carol Carriere joined the practice shortly afterwards. Both Dr. Pat and Dr. C received their degrees from LSU in 1984. After graduation, Dr. Pat worked at the Louisiana S.P.C.A.. He was a regular guest on the morning news, WDSU, for 8 years answering questions and educating the community about their pets. He has also studied and taught the technical aspects of various drugs for major drug companies including Pfizer Animal Health and Boehringer-Ingelheim. Animal Medical & Surgical Hospital is a drug trial clinic for the industry, which is a prestigious honor
