Overview

Kenwood Animal Hospital is a full-service dog and cat veterinary hospital located in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Kathleen Dougherty and the entire staff of Kenwood Animal Hospital are dedicated to providing our patients with the highest quality of care, and our services are geared to suit our clientele's busy lives. We're a practice driven by service – not policy. Each day, we endeavor to merge high-tech and highly personable service in order to offer you and your pet the best experience possible

Kenwood Animal Hospital stands as a testament to enduring care and community spirit in Bethesda, MD. We have a long history in our community as Dr. Raymond Currey opened the Washington Veterinary Clinic in the 1930s on Wisconsin Avenue in Friendship Heights. He retired in 1986 and sold the property to the developers of the Chevy Chase Pavilion. His son, Dr. Gordon Currey, who had been working with his father, opened the Currey Animal Clinic at the present location. Upon his retirement in 2001, Dr. Gordon Currey sold the practice to Dr. Kathleen Dougherty, who renamed the practice Kenwood Animal Hospital. Dr. Dougherty has since renovated and expanded the practice to include a number of complementary services

Mission — At Kenwood, we believe in a holistic approach to veterinary care that honors the triad of our community: Pet Owners, Our Staff, and the Pets we love. Each plays a pivotal role in the vibrant ecosystem of care we cultivate. We strive to make a positive impact on everyone who walks through our doors, ensuring that every visit is met with the highest levels of kindness, respect, and professional care
