Pet+E.R., previously known as the Animal Emergency Center, opened its doors on York Road in 1986 when a group of veterinarians identified a strong need for a 24-hour emergency animal hospital that would be able to care for their patients outside of their regular clinic hours. These Baltimore-area veterinarians opened the Animal Emergency Center to support patients with emergency and critical care situations when their offices were closed. As our animal hospital expanded, we rebranded to Pet+E.R. and, in 2003, moved to a state-of-the-art facility on Luskin's Hill in Towson to better serve the veterinary and pet-owning community in Maryland. In 2023, Pet+E.R. relocated again from Towson to a brand new 40,000 square foot facility in Hunt Valley, Maryland that offers more dedicated ICU space, a larger isolation ward, advanced imaging, improved surgery suites and other cutting edge technology and design that allows us to collaborate with our specialty partners at Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center
