Overview
We offer preventive medicine, such as vaccinations, nutrition consulting, animal husbandry, and behavior counseling, for the well-being of your furry friends, ensuring that your pets and farm animals receive the best possible treatment. We offer individualized care as well as herd-level medicine and pride ourselves on our abilities to handle both
In 2015, Dr. Matthew Weeman began providing veterinary services to Maryland’s eastern shore and the surrounding Delaware communities through many of the region’s small animal hospitals as well as his mobile practice called Bayside Bovine Veterinary Services. With the needs of the community changing and the practice growing in clientele and the number of species served it became clear that the region needed the services of a comprehensive, mixed animal veterinary facility that people can rely on and trust to care for their animals. As many of our region’s small, quaint veterinary hospitals are closing or being gobbled up by corporate behemoths plastering cookie cutter policies and pricing on once – local hometown clinic names and removing any and all care to farm animal species, Dr. Weeman decided enough was enough. Years of searching led to a suitable, centralized location – we are a maximum distance of about one hour from anywhere in Delaware or on Maryland’s eastern shore – and finally, Central Shore Veterinary Services was born. The practice is based on a concept that was once more common in veterinary medicine: partnership. Not the type of partnership our corporate peers offer where someone you’ve never met takes over small clinics, raises prices and filters the revenues to shareholders and corporate benefactors while offering a sliver of minority stake to the veterinarians working there. Central Shore Veterinary Services is a bona fide partnership where the veterinarians practicing within the hospital are afforded an opportunity and encouraged to become equal owners of the practice. Our veterinarians and entire support team live within and support our local community and are committed to taking veterinary medicine back to what it used to be and what you really want: top-notch care with a hometown feel that is individualized to your needs and provided by people you know and can trust
Mission — Our mission at CSVS is to provide exceptional, gentle, compassionate care to every animal we treat in an environment of mutual respect and trust to maximize the comfort of our patients and clientele
