Overview

Community Spay-Neuter Clinic (CSNC) of Topsham is already well known for its charitable service making spay-neuter services available to pet owners for whom cost is otherwise prohibitive. Next month, CSNC will take its commitment to the community and the environment a step further by reforming as a Benefit Corporation, a structure officially signed into law by Governor Mills in 2019. This new statute gives people who have an idea to improve the world through a business another choice

Formed in 2010 with assistance from the Center for Wildlife Health Research, 501c3, CSNC has a mission to protect animals, both domestic and wild. To date, CSNC has spayed and neutered over 35,000 pets in Maine, combining mobile clinics, MASH-style clinics and it’s brick-and-mortar clinic in Topsham to reach pet owners throughout Maine with this critical service

Mission — To protect animals, both domestic and wild. Providing affordable spay-neuter to all pet owners regardless of income reduces pet homelessness, which in Maine is a significant problem for cats
