CSNIP impacts thousands of families each year in our mission to reduce the gap in veterinary care by providing affordable vet care for pet families in our 10-county community. We prevent pet overpopulation and improve the quality of life for dogs, cats, and their caregivers with accessible, high-quality, reduced cost veterinary care. In 2001, CSNIP began as a mobile clinic to address the growing overpopulation of dogs and cats and the euthanasia of unwanted companion animals in West Michigan. It was the first high-volume, reduced-cost nonprofit spay/neuter solution in the region. In 2006 CSNIP transitioned to become a high-volume stationary spay/neuter clinic in Kentwood, operating with two veterinarians and a team of vet techs, performing approximately 70 dog and cat sterilizations each week. This move allowed us to become a recognized expert in high-volume spay and neuter surgery and led to our collaboration with MSU's College of Veterinary Medicine as a rotation partner, teaching our specialized surgical skills to approximately 50 senior veterinary students annually. Over the years, the community asked CSNIP to expand its services beyond spay/neuter surgery to address the growing gaps in access to veterinary care. In 2019, CSNIP formally expanded its mission to position the organization to help ensure more pet families can access the veterinary care their pets need. Demand for these services continued to grow and CSNIP responded by adding an expanded menu of wellness/prevention services. However, we had outgrown our small clinic after using every inch of its available space. In 2023, we purchased a 12,000 square foot building in the city of Walker to allow CSNIP the space needed for future growth. The major building renovation was completed in December 2024 and CSNIP can now offer an expanded appointment schedule to accommodate that growth. This has positioned CSNIP to provide our spay/neuter, wellness, prevention, dental and surgical procedures to a growing number of at-risk dogs and cats at prices their families can afford
