I knew I wanted to go into the medical field from a very young age. My father was a surgeon and I have 3 brothers that are physicians. When I was 12 years old, my family moved to a horse farm in Clarkston. Veterinary medicine was the perfect choice to combine my love for animals and the desire to practice medicine. After graduating from Clarkston High School, I went 2 years to Oakland University. I then transferred to Michigan State University for the remaining 2 years of undergraduate study. I majored in Zoology. I spent the next 4 years at Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. I spent several years as an associate veterinarian in private practice with veterinarians who have specialized in Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Oncology. I’ve been in practice for 30 years
