Overview

Serving independent swine and beef producers with health, production, management, and nutritional needs

Fairmont Veterinary Clinic (FVC) has proudly served the livestock industry since 1959, when Dr. Dave Johnson founded the original practice in Welcome, Minnesota. Over the years, the clinic grew through partnerships and mergers, expanding its services and impact across southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. In 1968, Drs. Dave Johnson, Ralph Johnson, and Kent Kislingbury officially merged their practices, forming the foundation of the modern FVC. Continued growth led to new facilities, the addition of talented veterinarians, and a focus on innovative services for swine and beef producers. FVC played a pioneering role in several key agricultural advancements: In 1987, it supported the formation of Camalot, the first user group-owned PIC multiplier in North America. In 1990, FVC established the PigCHAMP Bureau, now tracking data for over 75,000 sows. The clinic expanded into swine genetics with the launch of Fairmont Artificial Breeders (FAB) in 1994. It also supported the development of Preferred Capital Management (PCM), which continues to manage farms across multiple states. Today, FVC operates with a dedicated team of eight veterinarians and ten support staff, offering specialized consulting, traditional veterinary care, and research services. With a client base of progressive, forward-thinking producers, FVC remains at the forefront of animal health and agricultural innovation

Mission — Our Mission is to provide leadership and knowledge, along with differentiated products and services, to the swine and beef feed lot industries
