Grand Avenue Veterinary Center was founded in 1985 by two newly graduated women veterinarians, Dr. Nancy Balto and Dr. Diane Borreson. At the time, the veterinary profession was dominated by men and only a handful of veterinary practices were woman owned. They were proud to open the clinic to family, friends and neighbors. Many of those families are still coming to the practice today! Dr. Balto and Dr. Borreson created a business that was ahead of its time. Dr. Ann Brownlee joined the clinic as the first associate in 1989 and eventually took over ownership when Dr. Balto and Dr. Borreson retired. She was a part of the growth and success of GAVC for over 30 years. Upon Dr. Brownlee’s retirement, Dr. Heather Taylor and Dr. Jen Seidl took ownership as co-owners, thus keeping GAVC a locally owned and woman owned clinic. Dr. Taylor and Dr. Seidl both began their veterinary careers at GAVC as assistants and stayed through veterinary school. After a brief time away, they both found their way back as associates and now as co-owners. Dr. Taylor and Dr. Seidl are committed to providing a partnership between our associates and clientele to deliver personalized and leading edge care for their pets. GAVC has grown organically as a team and practice over the years. They are delighted to provide a supportive workplace to a team of over 20 people; 6 veterinarians and a wonderful mix of veterinary technicians, assistants, students and customer service representatives. Our dedicated team is committed to creating an enduring relationship with you and your pet, to share our knowledge and provide high quality medical care
