Dr. Nielsen bought Waite Park Veterinary Hospital in Waite Park, MN in 1979. He practiced all aspects of veterinary medicine and in 1980 began offering alternative cancer therapies. 1987 saw the addition of chiropractic care and acupuncture. In 1990, Dr. Nielsen attended the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association’s annual meeting, which acted as the catalyst in transforming Waite Park Vet Hospital from a strictly traditional Western medicine veterinary hospital into a hospital that practices integrative medicine
