Dr. Susan Lloyd grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where her mother raised thoroughbred horses and German shepherds. After attending East Carolina University for a semester, Dr. Lloyd headed to North Carolina State University to complete her undergraduate degree and earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. The following year, she completed an internship in poultry medicine. Dr. Lloyd then traveled the state, working for several different doctors providing relief services for a number of years, before founding Live Oak Veterinary Hospital in Beaufort, North Carolina on the recommendation of a previous employer. She has been serving the pets and animal owners of the area as the owner of Live Oak Veterinary Hospital for 28 years
