Overview

At North Elm Animal Hospital, we offer a full range of comprehensive services that include not only medical and surgical care, but behavioral consultations, dentistry, laser therapy, grooming, and boarding

In November of 2000, Drs. Anne Mitchell and Claudia Sims opened North Elm Animal Hospital (NEAH) after practicing together since 1990. The practice grew rapidly and the building was expanded in 2004 to meet their needs. We are a seven-doctor hospital: Dr. Angel Coates in 2005, Dr. Mariana Reyes in July 2021, Dr. Bastian Parsons and Dr. Blake Klein in August 2021. Our Practice Manager is Cynthia Thompson. We have more than 85 combined years of practice experience among us! As of November 2021, beloved Dr. Anne Mitchell retired from veterinary medicine. Our hospital manager is Cynthia Thompson. Our staff is comprised of a groomer and more than 35 dedicated technicians, veterinary assistants and receptionists. We are a pet-loving group of people, and between all of us have a total of 142 pets! Our team strives to provide the best compassionate care possible. The doctors also work with local veterinary specialists and the NCSU Veterinary School to ensure that pets receive the highest level of care available

based on 685 reviews

The veterinary team is widely regarded as compassionate, knowledgeable, and exceptionally thorough in providing medical care for pets. The practice handles urgent appointments and emergency procedures efficiently, offering a reassuring environment for both routine checkups and critical care. While the facility appears somewhat dated and front desk experiences occasionally vary, the medical staff consistently delivers high-level support, clear communication, and empathetic end-of-life services.
